expansion of methodological knowledge concerning the academic preparation of a self-chosen topic and the ability to comprehensively present the topic
knowledge of the methods of interdisciplinary gender studies
ability to analyze, critically assess and independently present quantitative and qualitative data from a gender perspective
ability to select methods for research proposals from the social sciences and humanities and to translate them into an full-fledged project
well-founded knowledge of the interdisciplinary debate on gender categories
analytical comprehension of the central questions and concepts of gender studies in the humanities and social sciences
Learning content:
introduction to the methods of interdisciplinary gender studies
thematization and, via a gender perspective, expansion of the methods of the social sciences and the humanities
conveyance of the foundations of academic critique with which a gender-sensitive epistemology was developed
focus and evaluation of specific methodological applications by using varying (inter)disciplinary paradigms
critical examination of the central terms and theoretical approaches of gender studies
allocation of various constructions of gender stereotypes and normative gender role images to their respective historical contexts of origin
analysis of debates in the social sciences and humanities from a gender perspective
special consideration of the relations between epistemic interest and the selection of methods as well as (self-)reflection on the part of researchers themselves
