Marco Teixeira and Eryka Galindo published their new article "Brasil, do flagelo da fome ao futuro agroecológico – Uma análise do desmonte das políticas públicasfederais e a agroecologia como alternativa" ("Brazil, from the hunger crisis to an agroecological future - an analysis of the dismantling of federal public policies and agroecology as an alternative.") The article was written in co-authorship with Lara Sartorio Gonçalves (PhD student in Sociology at IESP/UERJ) and Paulo Niederle (Professor at UFRGS). The study collects and analyzes the main acts of dismantling of federal public policies in support of family agriculture, agroecology, and food and nutritional security in the country. The research also includes a survey of proposals from representatives of the agroecological movement for the reconstruction and improvement of policies and the institution necessary for advancing the agroecological perspectives as an approach to the development of socially just, ecologically sustainable, and culturally appropriate food systems.
The work was coordinated by Flavia Londres Viviane Brochardt, from the National Agroecology Articulation.
