On December 8 and 9, the Workshop gender awareness and visibility in communication toward food justice took place at the Freie Universität Berlin. It was organized by Marco Antonio Teixeira and Lea Zentgraf, researchers at the Food for Justice Research Group, and Marlene Gomez, researcher at the Research Project The Politics of Food in Southern Europe. Andrea Dip, investigative journalist from Brazil, coordinated the Workshop and Lea Fauth, German journalist from the taz, gave an input on the second day. The workshop was financed by the Margherita-von-Brentano-Zentrum from Freie Universität Berlin.

The aim was to strengthen cooperation between academia and mass media in the subject of gender and food with a focus on science dissemination and enhance and reinforce the participant’s qualifications and networks with the mass media. Further, its goal was to create better communication tools for food justice with a transversal gender and diversity approach.
