FUB scholars abroad
Researchers Going Abroad
Freie Universität Berlin funds and supports scholar exchange. High standards of research and education are being maintained and secured thanks to the 130 worldwide university partnerships.
Numerous exchange agreements make research stays abroad for scholars possible. Specific individual projects are also funded, as well as exchange programs which are valid at all university departments (Fachbereiche).
Information on staying abroad with the ERASMUS+ program for scientific staff members!
A total of 42 partner universities in Argentina, Chile, China, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, India, Iran, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, Peru, Russia, Taiwan, or the United States are available for a one-week teaching stay.
Visiting lecturers are expected to strengthen the European dimension of the host university through their stay, to complement its teaching program and to impart their expertise to students who do not want to or cannot study abroad. Ideally, this should involve the development of joint study programs between the partner universities as well as the exchange of teaching content and methods. During the stay, eight teaching hours per week of stay are required.
For the duration of the stay you will receive a grant of 180 €/per day plus a travel allowance, which is calculated according to the distance of the host country.
In addition, there is the possibility for scientific employees to carry out a stay for further education and training instead of a teaching stay. All information about the offers, the partner universities and the required application documents can be found on this homepage.
The deadline for applications is January 29th, 2023.
