DesiguALdades.net is an interdisciplinary, international, and multi-institutional research network on interdependent inequalities in Latin America. Its specific research profile emphasizes multidimensionality and global interdependencies of social inequalities in Latin America.

This network was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF) within the framework of the funding line “Strengthening and developing of area studies.” Executive institutions are the Institute for Latin American Studies (LAI) and the Ibero-American Institute (IAI) of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz). Further participating institutions are the German Development Institute (DIE, Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik), and the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA).
