Medidas para la inclusión social y equidad en instituciones de educación superior en América Latina (MISEAL)
The joint project „Medidas para la inclusión social y equidad en Instituciones de Educación Superior en América Latina" (MISEAL) that was being coordinated by the Institute for Latin American Studies and the Universidade Estadual de Campinas deals with the subject matter of social inequality at Latin American institutions of higher education. Altogether 12 Latin American and 4 European universities were involved in the project that was managed by Prof. Dr. Marianne Braig and PD Dr. Martha Zapata Galindo at the Institute for Latin American Studies.
The project poses the question of mobility of women and other disadvantaged groups in Latin American societies with the focus on intersectionality, gender, poverty and race. In order to counteract these discrimination processes and unequal treatment of marginalized groups MISEAL examines measures that should facilitate the access to institutions of higher education.
