Yun-Young Choi
Yun-Young Choi holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in German Language and Literature from the Seoul National University in South Korea. After that she continued her academic career in Germany at the University of Bonn where she did her PhD in German Literature with minors in Sociology and Communications Research. She has published articles and books both in Korean and German and received three Book Awards from the National Academy of Sciences and the Korean Comparative Literature Association. She has been a lecturer at German and Korean universities in the past. Her research topics are German literature, German Studies and Cultural Studies. She has worked as the Secretary General at the Institute for German Studies at the Seoul National University and later became a research fellow at the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. She has also hold the position of Secretary General at the Korean Society of DAAD Alumni in Seoul and became a research ambassador of DAAD in 2014. Since 2017 she is the president of the Korea Hesse Society.
