The department of political science at LAI welcomes Dr. Ana Catalina Arango Restrepo as a visiting researcher. Dr. Arango Restrepo is a researcher and professor at the Instituto de Estudios Políticos of the Universidad de Antioquia (Medellín, Colombia). Her work focuses on the study of the transformations that the presidential system in Colombia has experienced and its effects on democracy. During her stay in Berlin she will be working on the research project "The Military in Politics: The Construction of an Authoritarian Memory in the Executive (The Colombian Case)" that explores how an authoritarian memory is built in the executive that encourages the intervention of the military in the field of politics, unrelated to their professional activity.
