Research at the Institute is concerned with almost all the countries and sub-regions of Latin America. Nonetheless, research strategies and areas of expertise have resulted in regional concentrations, which may vary in LAI’s ongoing research projects. At present, special emphasis is being placed on the following regions: Brazil, the Cono Sur, the Caribbean and Mexico.
